This is a great tool for all teachers but specifically NQT's. Sometimes the world of social networking can be quite daunting, this is a great piece of work that should be a tool in everybodys kit bag of tips and tricks. I will definitely be referring this to all teachers i speak to. I love the analogy with a river (I must have been hibernating during the winter!). Twitter has been so valuable to me over the past six weeks or so, as Victorian teachers have been preparing for the #ultranet launch. The ultranet is supposed to be an "on-line network that will give students, teachers and parents 24hr access to lessons, homework, results and attendance". It's been six years and $77 million in the making, but not yet working well. Twitter has allowed communication and sharing between lead users statewide, connecting government-sector teachers in an unprecedented way. Maybe your next post could be about the power of hashtags. Or maybe I should just write that one myself! :)
Best regards and keep up the great work, Britt Gow

Re: Twitter – A Teaching and Learning Tool

looks nice, teaching jobs in TAIWAN, I have a friend who is now teaching there...

Re: Twitter – A Teaching and Learning Tool

Thanks for your information :) I like it

Re: Twitter – A Teaching and Learning Tool

Twitter.. it's really really amazing... And what I recognized during reading your post was, that you are using your own twitter network to make it usefull for teaching - or in other words: you mash up you world of living with your world of TEACHING.
That's a great point I will think about quit a few further days. Thanks for that and the great practical hints.
Greeting from Germany by www.blog.initiatived21.de

Re: Twitter – A Teaching and Learning Tool

reached this via Terry Freedman - more to think about than a vacationing Maine teacher needs, but worth it. Please add it here - http://twitter.pbwiki.com/T...

Re: Twitter – A Teaching and Learning Tool

This is a very nice post about using Twitter.
